Not been the best year for me as far as life at sea goes - I've had back to back contracts on the Panama Canal itinerary. Interesting the first two or three times, but ... And only nine days leave between the two - no mountain time at all, and anyway not much daylight in Scotland in January. But think positive! Authentic Mexican food, every few days, and beer is virtually free! And in late July comes the compensation - the New York - Quebec run, with a few deviations to Greenland for good measure (on the Caribbean Princess). Weather and walking! Good times ahead, and watch out for some photos to follow. |

Crunch time in June. It wasn't by design, but I'm realising that with less than 100 Munroes left to ascend, I've left most of the monster climbs until the end. So before I'm past managing them, it's time to get them done. There's the Liathich 2 and the An Teallach 2 in the north-west (exposure, exposure, exposure!), and there's the biggest challenge of them all, the mighty Cuillin on the Isle of Skye. One outlier, and one massive ridge which includes eleven peaks. It's a challenge, but oh, the feeling if I can get them under my belt! Van's good to go, and so am I - pictures will surely follow ... |
